Claiming car insurance policy twice in one year?

Hi all, just looking for some advice on claiming my car insurance twice in the same year... basically in my many years of driving without any incidents, I have had quite possibly the worst motoring luck/year imaginable!. Started late last year about 2 months after opening the insurance policy on my pride and joy, I crashed it (at blame) and wrote the car off and insurance paid out in full to finance company. The insurance was paid in full so I was able to use the existing policy I had for the remainder and add another car to it for a small fee then the other day my secured locker at work was broken into and all contents stolen, including car key which resulted in the car also been stolen and yet to be recovered and probably never will be!!.. All had been reported to police and insurance company etc but I'm terrified they will reject the claim as it will be the second on the policy in the 1 year. Have any you's had a similar experience and do you think they'll pay out? I'm absolutely devastated!!.... And btw the cover was fully comp, thanks for any advice or info.

Why did my lawyer tell the car insurance company to pay PIP directly to me when I asked to have my bill paid?

I spoke to my auto insurance company because my lawyer took two months to file my personal injury protection claim. Once, I took action into my own hands then I was assured that the woman handling my case from my car insurance company would see that my PIP paid for my medical expenses because I don't have health insurance. How do you switch from motability to owning a car with the UK's new car insurance policies?

Ok we've got a small problem. At present we get a car from motability, but we want to switch to owning our own car, but we have a major problem with this new all cars must be insured at all times or declared SORN scheme. The problem we have is that our motability car goes back in October. We're in a rural location so we need a car ready for when the switch over happens. At present with the motability insurance their insurance only insures one vehicle, the motability one, and can't have additional vehicles added to it. We've got a few quotes from insurance companies who have told us that when the motability lease expires they will give us the no claim discount based on the motabiity insurance, but they wont give us that discount until the motability car goes back. So what we want to do is get the new car before October, put it on the drive, check everything is ok with it, and then insure it when we start using it on the road when the motability vehicle goes back. Only problem is with this new law we can't do that without declaring the vehicle SORN. Some of the vehicles we've seen come with a few months road tax, so we don't really want to lose that by declaring it SORN, just for a few weeks (or is the tax disc still valid when you remove the SORN on the car?), we also don't want to insure the vehicle before the motability vehicle goes back as we wont get any NCB from the new insurer and that will cost us about an extra 500 in insurance (our current insurance price is about 500-600 but with 0 years no claims it goes up to around 1,000-1,100 - we have 3 years no claims with motability and I've held my driving licence for 6 years). I've read that you don't need this compulsory insurance if the vehicle is in trade, or between registered owners. That is one option, but how long after you buy a vehicle can you keep it in that status, would we be able to keep it like that for a few weeks or is it pretty much instant when we get the car. Obviously I realise I would need some kind of temporary one day insurance to drive the vehicle home after purchase.

Hi there, Lets say i would like to invest a house in a new subdivision cost $300 000. Located outskirt of Birmingham, AL. The Subdivision/community even built an Elementary School in the community. The community is divided from house prices ranging $150 000 to $500 000. When completed, the community will have 3,000 homes in a variety of distinctive neighborhoods within 5 to 10 years or more from now. How much will the insurance cost? Don't need a specific answer but just an idea how much it would cost average for the insurance etc etc I'm pretty sure certain factors changes each individual owner and the property area but from the basic description of the area, how much do you think? Of course i can always ask the insurer the question but i would like to know the homes owners in the house. Thanks for your input

I work and most of my salary goes to insurance, so what would be an affordable alternative? I don't think it should be given to us by the government, but I think there should be some controls on the cost, so more people could afford it.

Cheap car insurance for 17 year olds?

I am 17 and need a car to get me to work as it is quite a while away and costs me over 30 to get to a week!!! I passed my test last month and have done pass plus. I tried getting insurance for a 1.0L Lupo and it was 7500 on my own name (tried it a few times using thrid party only, thrid party fire & theft and fully comp but kept getting the same) I tried adding my father as the main & named driver (20+ years no claims) and reduced it to about 5000 which is still very very high and im not even using comparison sites (mainly sites aimed at 17 year olds) :@ I am quite angry becuase my friend when he passed last year got his insurance for 1600 on his own name at the age of 17! Any ideas on insurance compainies or how to reduce my insurance??

I was driving in a dirt parking lot at my school, I drove over some 3 foot tall weeds, I didn't see there was rocks underneath and as a result, damage to the under carriage occurred to my vehicle as follows: 1. Radiator crack 2. Transmission oil pan bent, 3. Exhaust damage total est cost $1,800 I am wondering whether or not this will be covered by insurance this happened yesterday I have not yet contacted my insurance company it occurred within 100 Yards of a paved road.

So we are paying like $132 for car insurance on two vehicles with American Family Insurance and we both have clean records although we are young 22 (f) and 24 (m). We just got a quote from Wawanesa they said we could do full coverage through them for half the price 80 a month! Although they don't do home insurance and I know you can save a lot by combining the two. So now through AFI we pay about $40 a month for home insurance is that a good price with the combined home and auto?? How much do you think it will go up if we cancel the car insurance and go with wawanesa?? Is there cheaper insurance agencies that will cover only home? In the end I am just looking for how much you pay and if you combine your auto with the same company. Thanks!!
